Holiday Inn Taunton Celebrates Completion of  $4 Million Plus in Renovations Hotel-wide
Sunday Champagne Brunch Tradition Starts September 11
Inn Fitness Club Members Have New Facility
Taunton, Massachusetts—August 10, 2011--The former Taunton Inn and Conference Center is now the Holiday Inn Taunton. 
The Holiday Inn Taunton has celebrated the completion of more than $4 million in renovations spanning all areas of the hotel, and has been successfully relaunched August 9, 2011 through InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). Renovations covered all 155 guest rooms, public areas, the 30,000 square foot Conference Center, Copper Fountain Restaurant and the new Ivy’s Café.  The Inn Fitness Club has also been completely renovated; its 1600 loyal members will now enjoy a new facility. "It’s very exciting,” said Paul Kremp, General Manager of The Holiday Inn Taunton. “The hotel has gone through a tremendous transformation,” “The hotel’s interior design group, CDI Designs, has done a wonderful job creating a contemporary look throughout the hotel and complimenting the new guest room décor. Our guests will really see and enjoy the difference.”
The hotel features IHG Design Group’s upgraded guest room renovations package and features the Urban and Contempo design schemes.  Technology upgrades mean that guests will now enjoy free Wi-Fi Internet access, and 32-inch flat screen TVs in all guest rooms.
Kremp said the hotel’s exterior also received a complete makeover, including a new color scheme, upgraded landscaping, an expansive new front portico, new entrances to the Inn Fitness Center and the hotel’s Conference Center.  The Holiday Inn Taunton proudly features the Holiday Inn Signature Green Sign and lighting.
Hotel staff has received special customer service training called “Stay Real.” The program was developed by IHG as part of its Relaunch of new hotels initiative. The hotel expects to increase employment in the fall.
The Holiday Inn’s long time tradition of Sunday Champagne Brunch will return starting on September 11th, 2011.  “The brunch has been a favorite weekend event in our community and we are pleased to be able to bring it back,” said Kremp. “It will be held in Ivy’s Café and will feature a new look, with new menu choices.”
The hotel, which has been owned and operated by Weilsi Enterprises, Inc. for more than 20 years, is owned under license with InterContinental Hotels Group, Atlanta GA.  Guests can earn Priority Club points for frequent stays.

Transportation Demand Management Program

Commuter Survey

At the Myles Standish Industrial Park Association meeting on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 where traffic issues were discussed, company representatives were informed that a Transportation Demand Management Program is being launched this summer starting with a commuter survey. The survey is to be completed by each MSIP employee and returned for tabulation by our Wheaton College intern, Max Swanson, who is busy compiling the survey information. We hope to have a report by the end of the summer. MSIP companies also received information concerning MassRIDES and GATRA incentives for commuters.
